Community Inclusion Currencies

Stabilizing basic needs at uncertain times.

What are some key problems that this process can solve?

During crisis times, national currencies of developing economies may collapse. This leads to an inability for the community members to trade, even for very basic human needs like clean water or supplies.  As in the example of the Sarafu system in Kenya, smaller communities may come together to merge their currencies into a common one spanning a larger geography for wider impact.

How does this process work?

Creating a stable network of trade through a new currency specifically designed to withstand crisis times.

What types of participation has this process offered communities?
