Collaborative Compensation
When employees of an organization participate in the process of deciding about how reward for their work is allocated.
What are some key problems that this process can solve?
Compensation in an organization is usually done in a top-down manner, where managers and executives decide on compensation amounts for their employees. Even in more decentralized organizations, such as DAOS, leaders and token-holders might be out of touch with the happenings at the contributor level.
How does this process work?
Collaborative compensation is a more participatory process for setting compensation that makes pay more dynamic and truly reflective of the work of the individuals. It can be done in a variety of ways such as through gifting circles (BanklessDAO using Coordinape), self-selected pay ranges (OpenCollective), and more.
